WAINWRIGHT COLLECTION-UK
The Wainwrights (mountains) are named after Alfred Wainwright (1907-1991) who was a British hiker, illustrator, author and is most famous for his humorous and detailed pocket book sized guides to the Lakeland Fells. There are a total of 214 ‘Wainwrights’ and the mountains and peaks he selected were not chosen because of their height prominence but because he thought they were worth walking up and true fell tops. Due to the popularity of his books the pursuit of “Wainwright’ bagging has been a popular pastime for walkers and mountaineers of all ages and abilities. Summit Junkie’s Wainwright collection has been created by our team of artists in response to the many request from our customers, whilst the collection continues to grow, the current Wainwrights are those that have been the most popular by request.
