STEEL FELL - WAINWRIGHT COLLECTION
A Wainwright is the summit of what Alfred Wainwright (1907-1991) thought were true Cumbrian fell tops. There are a total of 214 ‘Wainwrights’ which have over the years become a very popular pastime for all the many Wainwright Baggers.
Steel Fell 553m is a comfortable climb to the centre of three ridges and if combined with the southeast ridge, Helm Crag ridge and Calf Crag makes for a pleasant and fine horseshoe circuit.
