A Wainwright is the summit of what Alfred Wainwright (1907-1991) thought were true Cumbrian fell tops. There are a total of 214 ‘Wainwrights’ which have over the years become a very popular pastime for all the many Wainwright Baggers.
Rosthwaite Fell 551m is one of the smaller Wainwrights and geologically is at the end of the Scafell range and providing time is on your side can be starting point for ascending Scafell Pike.
