OLD MAN OF CONISTON
Old Man of Coniston at 803 meters is a fell in the Furness Fells in the English Lake District, Cumbria. It lies to the west of the village of Coniston and Coniston Water where Dopnald Cambell made his fatal 1967 attempt at the World Water Speed record in his boat Bluebird.
From the summit there are excellent panoramic views of all surrounding hills and fells, from Black Combe around to the Pennines as well as the Scafell group to the North and as far as the Isle of Man to the West.
