MOUNT FITZ ROY
Mount Fitz Roy is situated in Patagonia on the border between Argentina and Chile. It is considered a difficult mountain to ascend and was first climbed in 1952. Towering above a cluster of granite mountains at 3359 meters, it’s protruding spire like summit remains the preserve of seasoned technical mountaineers. However the many less experienced hikers in search of breathtaking scenery and views of wild flowering fields and crystalline lakes are more than content to enjoy these pleasures without the challenge of summiting the peaks. El Chatén, is a resort village located within Los Glacieres National Park and is the starting point for climbs and walks around Mount Fitz Roy and its granite twin Cerro Torre.
