KALA PATTHAR

Kala Patthar means 'Black Rock' in the Nepali and Hindi language and is a notable landmark in the Nepalese Himalayas. Its popularity is due to the fact it affords some of the most outstanding views of Everest which are normally blocked by the presence of the mountain peak Nuptse, which is often disappointing for those arriving at the Everest Base Camp. The route to Kala Patthar commences from Gorak Shep and although the route demands for some stamina and adjustment to altitude the reaching of the summit is rewarded  by spectacular views of the world highest mountain.
