A Wainwright is the summit of what Alfred Wainwright (1907-1991) thought were true Cumbrian fell tops. There are a total of 214 ‘Wainwrights’ which have over the years become a very popular pastime for all the many Wainwright Baggers.
Bowfell at 902 meters is a pyramid-shaped mountain lying at the heart of the English Lake District, Cumbria in the Southern Fells area. It is the sixth highest mountain in the Lake District and one of the most popular occupying a majestic and prominent position at the head of the beautiful Langdale Valley.
